The deaf ministry exists to minister to those within the Oklahoma City deaf community. With their unique language and culture, First Southern is a place where the deaf and hard-of-hearing can readily worship, study the word of God, and fellowship together with their families. Besides the weekly scheduled times, we also have special fellowship times throughout the year.
Weekly Deaf Women’s Connection Group
This class is intended for deaf women to study the word of God together.
Weekly Deaf Men’s Connection Group
This class is intended for deaf men to study the word of God together.
Weekly Beginner’s Connection Group
Dive into the Scriptures maybe for the first time in this “Basics” of the Bible class.
Weekly Deaf Student Connection Group
Students through high school are included in this group as they study the Bible, and how it impacts their daily walk with the Lord.
Deaf Chat Coffee
We host the Deaf Chat Coffee on Northwest Expressway & MacArthur the second Friday of each month. This is a good place to get together with others in the community, and an excellent way for new signers to learn and use sign language.
Annual Deaf Men’s Conference
Many deaf men from all over the United States get together once a year for fellowship, and an in-depth study of God’s word.
Annual Christian Deaf Women’s Conference
Once a year, deaf women from across the state of Oklahoma are asked to participate in an exciting and intriguing time of fellowship and worship.
Annual Deaf Youth Camp
Students of the deaf ministry at First Southern look forward to the annual trip to Texas for the deaf youth camp. An incredible time of growth and fun is capped off by dynamic Bible studies, and incredible worship.
