Ministry Statements

Older Adult Ministry - Dr. Bob Schobert

If you remember the days when televisions had rabbit ears, radios had tuning dials, and telephones were connected to walls, then you should consider checking out the Older Adult Ministry at First Southern! The Older Adult Ministry is anchored by the FOCUS Bible Study which meets every Tuesday at 9:30 am in the Fellowship Hall. You will be encouraged by God’s Word, singing your favorite hymns, making friends, going on field trips, and engaging in service opportunities.

Veterans Appreciation Breakfast

If you enjoy the freedoms afforded to you by this great nation, praise the Lord and thank a Veteran today!

Join us for our Veterans Appreciation Breakfast, scheduled every 2^nd Saturday, 9:00 am, at Pelican’s Restaurant on Air Depot Blvd in Midwest City. You will meet some heroes, make some friends, hear a devotional, and of course have a great breakfast provided by  our friends at Pelican’s. For questions, contact Bob Schobert at the church office. ‍Young Adult Ministry:

The Young adult ministry is directed towards helping the young adults of our church grow together and become rooted in a community that teaches the word of God, directing them towards a stronger understanding of the gospel and a deeper faith in Christ.

The young adult group meets weekly for Sunday school at 9:30 a.m. in the Activities Center. Along with weekly meetings Wednesday nights in the Activities Center at 7:30 p.m.

Women’s Ministry

Our Women’s Ministry team is made up of two groups:  the Teaching Team and the Events Team.  Our teaching team is made up of women who lead our Women’s Bible Studies on Sunday evenings, Tuesday mornings and Wednesday evenings. Our Event team meets monthly to plan various women’s events and works together as a team to bring them to fruition.  

If your interested in getting involved, we are currently in need of a Wednesday evening Bible Study leader, whether it be teaching the class or facilitating a DVD-led study.  If you feel the Lord’s calling to participate on our Women’s Ministry Team, please reach out at women@firstsouthern.tv.

‍Kids Ministry

The Kids ministry goal is to connect kids to God and teach them how to live for Him.
Beginning as babies, kids are exposed to the truth of God’s Word and as they grow, they are guided to know and use the “whole armor of God.”  It is our goal to create a nurturing and safe environment where children can learn to love God and love others.
